The MPX will use, in all its units, the most modern technologies available in compliance with the strictest standards established by BNDES and the World Bank. Amongst them, the Clean Coal Burning technology or Clean Coal Technology.
Successfully used in developed countries, Clean Coal Technology (CCT) consists of a set of techniques destined to the efficient emissions removal. Through this technology, we eliminated about 95% of emissions generated by mineral coal combustion, ensuring a cleaner product.
In the MPX Itaqui, 30% from the plant’s total investment will be applied in this modern system which includes the most advanced filters, burners and boilers.
